BRINGING WONDER TO SCHOOL SPACES

This sculptural work evokes flickering light on the surfaces of water. It references the specialist marine teaching programs at Fremantle College and its proximity to the Indian Ocean and the coast of Western Australia - home of the Fremantle Port and harbour activities.

Kaleidoscopic Wave echoes the sensation of being underwater; viewing up to the surface ripples. The intention and the structure of the work succeeds in raising the gaze up to the sun. The reflections bring wonder and awe to the space.

PLACEMAKING FOR FREMANTLE

Immersed in this work is the sense of a city and community with a rich maritime and architectural past. The city of Fremantle - from the colonial to the industrial era. The metalwork draws upon earlier references of pressed tin ceilings through to twenty-first century designs using the most recent technological innovations.
